Restitution split heard in Cook case

WOBURN, Mass.

Comedian Dane Cook’s sister-in-law has asked a judge to allow her to keep two gold wedding bands as she and her husband prepare to sell their belongings to pay millions in restitution for stealing from the entertainer.

A lawyer for Erika McCauley made the request in a Massachusetts court Friday. A judge did not immediately rule.

McCauley’s lawyer says the rings are family heirlooms that aren’t worth much money but have sentimental value to her.

McCauley and her husband, Darryl McCauley — Cook’s half brother — have been ordered to pay the comedian $12 million in restitution.
