Choffin program collects mittens for area children

In keeping with the spirit of Christmas and the adage that it’s better to give than to receive, Choffin Career and Technical Center is inviting the public to join in a special project.

The Information Technology Tech Prep program is collecting new children’s mittens or gloves as well as hats and scarves.

The mittens and gloves will be donated to the Mahoning County Children Services Board, who will distribute them to the children in the area.

Over the last 29 years, Choffin has donated more than 5,600 items. With the public’s help, the school wants to continue this tradition of generous giving and hopes to reach our goal of donating a total of 6,000 items.

Monetary donations can also be made toward the purchase of these items. To do so, call 330-744-8748.

Donations will be accepted until Tuesday. The tree is displayed on the second floor of the career center.
