Choffin chooses 2 students for monthly honor

Portia Floyd, above left, and Nicholas Kirkland, at far right, were selected as Students of the Month for November at Choffin Career and Technical Center. Floyd, pictured with instructor Lois Haynes-Paige, is a Chaney High senior in the College Tech Prep Business and Finance program. Chosen for of her outstanding attitude, hard work and maturity, Floyd has goals of becoming an entrepreneur. Kirkland, shown with instructor Marion Kalasky, is an East High junior in the health professions program and is active in the band. He was chosen for excelling in his written work and demonstrating prowess in the laboratory. Kirkland plans on going to medical school to be a neurosurgeon.
