More than 450 luminaries lined the streets and sidewalks of Main Street Dec. 4 as Poland celebrated Christmas.

The town hosted its second annual Lighting of the Village Christmas Celebration on the green at Town Hall. Peterson Park was lit at 6:45 p.m., followed by the village trees at 7 p.m.

Santa Claus came to town for the celebration aboard one of the Western Reserve Joint Fire District’s fire trucks. One-by-one, children took turns sitting on Santa’s lap for a photo.

Members of Poland Seminary High School’s choir and band provided musical entertainment for the celebration. The event was coordinated by the Poland Junior Women’s Club, along with the help of other community organizations.
