Spaghetti dinner to benefit McCartney family

A spaghetti dinner and bake sale to benefit the Dale McCartney family is from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday at First Assembly of Pentecost Church, 4363 state Route 82.

McCartney, 33, was diagnosed with Stage 3 glioblastoma multiforme, an aggressive form of brain cancer. He can no longer work, and his wife, Teresa, is not only caregiver to their children, but also the primary caregiver to Dale, who cannot be left alone.

He has undergone brain surgery, chemotherapy, radiation and is now on his second round of chemotherapy. The family needs help with medical and other expenses.

The dinners are $6.50 for adults, $3.50 for children 12 to 4 and free to children 3 and under. Carryout is available.

People also can take nonperishable food items or gift cards to the dinner to assist the McCartneys or donate to “The Dale or Teresa McCartney Benefit Fund” at any PNC Bank branch. To make a personal donation, call 330-824-8456.
