Northeast Ohio braces for still more lake-effect snow

CLEVELAND (AP) — Lake Erie’s snow machine isn’t done with northeast Ohio, where communities already have more than a foot and a half of white on the ground.

The National Weather Service has a lake-effect snow advisory in place over the region until noon today because of the potential for up to 4 more inches of snow.

The weather service says Chesterland in Geauga County is buried under 29 inches after this week’s storms. Cleveland has a 10-inch snow cover.

A snow squall struck downtown Cleveland on Wednesday, creating gridlock during afternoon rush hour. The Plain Dealer reports snow plows got stuck in traffic with commuters.

But Cleveland Hopkins airport was largely spared. The weather service station there recorded just a trace of afternoon snow.
