Explosion rocks northern W.Va. factory
NEW CUMBERLAND, W.Va. (AP) — An explosion has rocked a plant in West Virginia’s northern panhandle.
Ken Kline, chief financial officer for AL Solutions, confirms a blast happened just before 1:30 p.m. today at the plant in New Cumberland. He would not comment on injuries.
He says the company is trying to determine the extent of the damage and take care of its employees. He says the blast happened in the main production building, but what caused it is unclear. About 25 people work at the plant.
AL Solutions was formerly called Jamegy Inc. It develops additives for the aluminum industry.
A previous explosion inside one of the company’s production buildings killed a worker in 2006.
