Don’t get a vaccination out of fear

Don’t get a vaccination out of fear

The focus of The Vindica- tor’s Nov. 22 article about the flu vaccine was that flu shot clinics are seeing 50 percent fewer people compared to last year. We were told we had a H1N1 “pandemic” last year. What people probably don’t realize is the World Health Organization changed the definition of pandemic to make a pandemic occur. By simply rewriting the definition they were able to successfully instill fear into the hearts and minds of the unsuspecting public. People flocked to clinics to get their vaccine.

Well, this year no such fear of a pandemic was set into motion. Also, no shortages of vaccine have been reported, another tactic successfully employed by the public health/ pharmaceutical companies to get people to get out and get vaccinated against the flu. The whole “If I can’t get one, then I want one” idea.

In the Vindicator article, Dr. John Venglarcik III, the medical director of the Mahoning County District Board of Health, actually stated that the lack of those two factors — no pandemic and no shortage — has prevented people from being fearful and therefore not getting the flu vaccine this year. What an admission. I appreciate the candor. Fear is what public health officials use to get people to get vaccinated.

Another important revelation recently made by our health officials pertains to the number of deaths annually attributed to flu. Year after year, we used to be told 36,000 people die each year from flu. That is simply false and the CDC openly admitted it. That number 36,000 was generated by a “statistical model” way back in 2003. And each year they would trot out that guesstimate to scare the public. Another amazing admission.

Hard to say exactly how many people die from flu each year. I question even if the officials actually know. I am confident, based on the fear tactics used to get people to get vaccinated, that number is significantly lower.

Fear is a powerful motivator. But, I hope people will look at these acts of manipulation by the “powers that be” when considering to flu shot, or not.
