The Youngstown Community Development Agency is putting six rehabilitated homes on the market, as the agency continues its ongoing effort to revitalize Youngstown’s neighborhoods.

The city invested between $69,000 and $80,000 into each of the properties, using funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Community Development Block Grant and HOME Investment Partnership Grant programs, designed to reduce urban blight and revive neighborhoods in distressed areas.

The YCDA administers about $6 million in HUD entitlement grants that the city receives each year.

Northwood Realty agent Gwen Bush has been awarded the listings for the six properties. The real- estate agency was one of three companies that submitted proposals for the listings.

“If we roll these over then we can rehab that many more homes and improve the condition of the neighborhoods,” Bush said in a news release.

The homes, which range between 1,200 and 1,800 square feet, have been completely rehabilitated with new windows, floors and furnaces as well as energy-efficient appliances, Bush said. Some of the homes also have new bathrooms, new roofs and garages.

The homes are in “move-in” condition, Bush added. All of the properties have been lead-abated, and electrical and plumbing systems have been updated.

Four of the six homes — at 135 Brookline Ave., 110 N. Osborne Ave., 2215 Cranbrook Drive and 39 Vermont Ave. — are available for showing. One of the homes is under contract, and one is still being remodeled.

The homes are designed for low- to moderate-income families. Prices range from $39,900 to $69,900.
