Local taste-and-tell event is tonight on Youngstown's East Side

YOUNGSTOWN — Residents are urged to come out tonight to taste samples of locally grown food and enjoy hot apple cider at Youngstown Academy of Excellence, 1408 Rigby St. (the former Roosevelt Elementary School) near Lincoln Park on the city's East Side.

The event is from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., and it is part of Mahoning Valley City Fresh, a program with opportunities to garden and access fresh produce in 2011. Farmers and local food supporters are also urged to attend.

City Fresh event partners are The Youngstown Neighborhood Development Corp., Ohio Environmental Education Fund, Goodness Grows, and the Academy of Excellence.
