Deutschlander CD is now available

“Silent Miracles,” Sue Deutschlander’s new holiday musical CD, is now available online at shinetogether.com. Deutschlander is known in the area as “Reiki Sue.” She is a Reiki healing master and certified clinical hypnotherapist. She is also a songwriter and musician and plays acoustic guitar on her new CD. Selections include “Angels From The Realms of Glory,” “Coventry Carol,” “Watchman Tell Us Of The Night,” “First Noel” and other seasonal favorites.
The CD cover features photography by Sarah Blocksom. Her framed prints will be available for sale, along with the CD, and other holiday gift, in Shine’s gift gallery in Columbiana.
YMCA celebrates arts with classes

The D.D. & Velma Davis YMCA will host a week of classes celebrating the arts during Art Open House Exhibition Week, Dec. 13-18. The schedule for the week:
Monday: oil painting, 1-2 p.m. and 6-7 p.m.; creative writing, 1-2 p.m. and 2-3 p.m.
Tuesday: print making, 1-2 p.m.; glass etching, 6-7 p.m.; Photoshop, 1-2 p.m. and 6-7 p.m.
Wednesday: crochet, 12-1 p.m. and 6-7 p.m.
Thursday: guitar, 1-2 p.m. and 6-7 p.m.; print making, 6-7 p.m.
Friday: life drawing, 1-2 p.m. and 6-7 p.m.
Saturday: anime movie, 10 a.m.-12 p.m.; knitting, 10-11 a.m. and 11 a.m.-12 p.m.
All classes are open to adults only, with the exception of guitar, which is for 14 and older, and the Saturday Anime movie (all ages). All programs are free and open to the public. Registration is required, and space is limited. To register, call the Y at 330-480-5656 or go to youngstownymca.org.
New conductor
CINCINNATI
The music director of Canada’s Windsor Symphony Orchestra will take up the baton as conductor of the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra, succeeding award-winning conductor Erich Kunzel who died last year. Cleveland native John Morris Russell, 50, will take over as conductor in Cincinnati on Sept. 1.
, orchestra officials announced Monday.
Russell was associate director of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra from 1995-2006, and said he was honored to succeed his colleague and friend.
