New Ohio governor inaugural schedule set

COLUMBUS (AP) — Ohio Gov.-elect John Kasich has planned four days of celebration surrounding his Jan. 10 inauguration that will range from rock to art to family activities.

Kasich’s New Day Committee announced today that festivities will kick off at the Rock and Rock Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland with a Jan. 7 reception honoring incoming Lt. Gov. Mary Taylor.

The next two days will feature events at the Statehouse, the Columbus Museum of Art, Ohio State University and the Franklin Park Conservatory near downtown Columbus.

Kasich, a republican, will be sworn in as Ohio’s next governor, succeeding Democrat Ted Strickland, at noon on Monday, Jan. 10, at the Ohio Theatre. The inaugural gala will follow at the Columbus Convention Center.
