Dion Dixon scored 17 points and Cincinnati improved to 7-0. The Bearcats jumped out to a 32-5 lead just nine minutes into the game, led 53-21 at the half and were never challenged. Cincinnati led by as many as 39 points in the second half. Eleven players scored for the Bearcats, and six had at least eight points. Cashmere Wright was the only other player in double figures with 10.
Dayton 70, Miami (Ohio) 58
DAYTON
Chris Wright scored 18 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, Paul Williams added 15 points and Dayton beat Miami (Ohio). Juwan Staten finished with 12 points and eight assists for the Flyers (6-2), who trailed 52-51 left with 7:34 left in the second half. But that was the last time the RedHawks (3-5) held the lead as Dayton went on a 10-0 run, capped by Chris Johnson’s layup with 4:10 to play.
Marshall 65, Ohio 57
ATHENS
DeAndre Kane scored 18 points and Marshall made 10 of 12 free throws down the stretch. The Thundering Herd (5-2) led 37-27 and the Bobcats (4-3) went on a 16-6 run to tie it at 43. Marshall then brought the lead back to 51-45 but Ohio once again rallied, knotting it up again at 55 on D.J. Cooper’s 3 with 3:35 to play. From that point, the Thundering Herd made it count from the free-throw line and the Bobcats went 0 for 3 from 3-point range.
Western Michigan 109, Alma 50
KALAMAZOO, MICH.
Matt Stainbrook scored 16 points and pulled down 11 rebounds to lead Western Michigan. Juwan Howard Jr. added 15 points and Caleb Dean had 14 points for the Broncos (2-4), who outscored the Scots 67-28 in the second half.
St. Bonaventure 76, Buffalo 74
OLEAN, N.Y.
Ogo Adegboye had 24 points and 10 assists to help St. Bonaventure. The Bonnies (4-2) led 44-43 at halftime and by as many as 19, at 63-44, with 13:09 to go. Still trailing 72-59 with 5:53 left, the Bulls (4-3) began chipping away at the lead, finally tying the game at 74 with 32 seconds to play on a Byron Mulkey layup.
