Ursuline draws first blood
CANTON — Ursuline High needed just three plays and a little more than a minute to begin the scoring in the Division V state championship game against Coldwater.
After two Paul Kempe runs for seven yards, the senior quarterback tossed a quick pass the do-it-all senior running back, and Ohio’s reigning Mr. Football, Akise Teague. Teague did the rest, running up the right sideline for a 73-yard touchdown.
Kciker Jeff Podolsky took the direct snap on the extra-point attempt and ran it in for the conversion.
Ursuline is up 8-0 early in the first quarter.
