Official GED testing sponsored by Youngstown Adult Basic and Literacy Education Program, University System of Ohio is set for 8:45 a.m. Dec. 14 and 15 at Choffin Career and Technical Center.

The UPMC Horizon Greenville Auxiliary is accepting scholarship applications from traditional and nontraditional students in the health-care field until March 1. Application forms have been distributed to guidance offices in the Commodore Perry, Conneaut Lake, Farrell, Greenville, Hermitage, Jamestown, Lakeview, Linesville, Mercer, Reynolds and Sharpsville school districts, as well as Kennedy Catholic High School, Keystone Charter School and the Mercer County Career Center. Applications are also available at the Sunny Horizon Gift Shop at UPMC Horizon’s Greenville campus and on the UPMC Horizon website, www.UPMC-Horizon.com. Applicants must be high-school graduates or the equivalent with at least a 2.5 grade-point average, live within UPMC Horizon Greenville’s service area, and be accepted to a two- or four-year college or university with a major in an allied health program. Christmas auction

Springfield High School will host a Christmas auction from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the school, Youngstown-Pittsburgh Road. All merchandise will be new including brand-name toys, housewares, electronics and collectibles. Food and beverages will be sold. Proceeds benefit the VFW Triangle Post Scholarship Fund.
