Fight at school leads to student’s arrest
BOARDMAN
Police are investigating a fight at Boardman High School. On Thursday, a 16-year-old male student was arrested in the assault of a teacher who was trying to break up the fight. Police said the 16-year-old and a 15-year-old male student began arguing, but that escalated to shoving and throwing punches.
Several teachers tried to separate the teens. The 15-year-old was on the floor with a teacher by his side, but the 16-year-old continued punching, hitting the teacher near the other student several times in the back of the head, police said.
Reports stated the teacher said he had only a headache from the blows. Officers did not arrest the students for hitting each other and instead sent the misdemeanor assault case to the Boardman police department juvenile division and the Mahoning County prosecutor’s office for review.
The 16-year-old was arrested, however, in the felony assault of a schoolteacher and taken to Martin P. Joyce Juvenile Justice Center.

“As a result, the complaint is dismissed, and there is no finding of guilt by this court,” Judge Clunk wrote.
The woman moved from her Boardman house to a Youngstown nursing home in February 2009.
