Man convicted of robbery

A jury in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court has convicted Maurice D. Teague, 19, of Almyra Avenue, Youngstown, on four felony charges related to a June 16 robbery in the parking lot of the Bazetta Township Walmart.

The jury deliberated about one hour before returning guilty verdicts on charges of aggravated robbery, carrying concealed weapons, improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Teague could get up to 21 years in prison when he is sentenced Jan. 3 in the courtroom of Judge Peter Kontos.

Teague was with three other men the night of the robbery. They are alleged to have robbed two men near the store about 8:30 p.m.

All four men were arrested within a few days.

The others charged in the robbery were Jerome Turner, 24, of Hillman Way, Boardman; Jermaine Beverly, 20, of East Lucius Avenue, Youngstown; and James Williams, 18, of Randolph Street, Youngstown.
