A summary of recent criminal activity in Poland and Boardman townships:
POLAND
Nov. 23
Breaking and entering: Someone broke into a home in the 8100 block of Struthers Road through a side window and removed about 150 feet of copper piping.
Nov. 25
Burglary: Someone entered a home in the 3000 block of Algonquin Drive and stole 10 digital photographs.
Nov. 26
Arrest: Authorities charged 61-year-old Gary J. Dota, 1743 Island Drive, Poland, with failure to comply with police after saying that when they tried to stop his vehicle near U.S. Route 224, Dota fled. He was released on a summons.
Nov. 27
Arrest: A traffic stop on U.S. Route 224 led to the arrest of 19-year-old Jared S. Ankerman, 1845 Canavan Drive, Poland, on a charge of operating a vehicle impaired.
Nov. 28
Burglary: Occurred in the 2200 block of Country Lane via a basement window. Stolen were numerous pieces of jewelry and 13 digital photographs.

Nov. 26
Theft: Police charged a 12-year-old Youngstown boy with stealing two Wii game accessories and a global-positioning system unit from Walmart, 1300 Doral Drive. He was released to the custody of his sister.
Assault: A Canfield man reported having been pushed in the chest while in the locker room of a McClurg Road business.
Criminal damaging: A kitchen window was broken at a home in the 5200 block of Southern Boulevard.
Aggravated menacing: An Austintown man at the Southern Park Mall told police someone threatened to shoot him.
Menacing: A Maple Avenue man reported someone threatened to harm him after he asked someone not to walk in his yard.
Assault: A woman told police her 60-year-old brother was pushed as he came out of a restroom at a Windham Court business. He was not injured.
Breaking and entering: Numerous copper sculpture pieces were taken from a building someone had entered in the 200 block of Boardman-Poland Road.
Theft: A 17-year-old McKees Rocks, Pa., girl was booked and released to the custody of her father after being accused of stealing three pieces of jewelry from Macy’s in the Southern Park Mall.
Burglary: To an apartment in the 7400 block of Huntington Drive. Nothing appeared to be missing, though a satellite radio was found on the floor.
Menacing: A woman arrived at an East Western Reserve Road church and discovered a message on an answering machine that implied someone would be shot.
Criminal damaging: A vehicle’s rear-hatch window was smashed in the 1200 block of Boardman-Poland Road.
Theft: A city boy, 15, faced charges of theft and resisting arrest after two Sony PlayStation 3 games were stolen from Walmart.
Nov. 27
Theft: A woman at the Southern Park Mall reported $143 worth of clothing missing.
Criminal damaging: A vehicle in the 100 block of Meadowbrook Avenue had damage to a driver’s-side door handle.
Drugs: Police pulled over a car near Simon Road then cited 50-year-old Nathaniel S. Austin, 36 Woodside Drive, Austintown, on a charge of possession of marijuana.
Menacing: A worker for a Southern Park Mall store told police that a person he had banned from the business challenged him to a fight.
Assault: A North Lima boy reported being struck in the back of the head while in the 7300 block of California Avenue, He was not hurt, however.
Arrests: Charges of disorderly conduct and obstructing official business were filed against two Youngstown boys, both 13, and a 16-year-old Warren boy after a fight on Doral Drive. The teens fled from police and ignored commands to stop, they said.
Nov. 28
Theft: Two packages of energy drinks as well as gum were stolen from Walgreen’s Pharmacy, 7295 Market St.
Theft: A Firnley Avenue man reported the theft of a $70 bicycle.
Theft: A $2,500 laptop computer and an MP3 player were removed from a vehicle in the 400 block of Indianola Road.
Theft: A man’s $500 cell phone was stolen at a Boardman-Poland Road store.
Assault: Earl E. Cooley Jr., 46, of 8301 Camden Way, Canfield, was picked up at the Columbiana County Jail and charged after a Canterbury Lane woman reported having been injured in an assault.
Auto theft: A 2006 Kia Spectra was stolen in the 6000 block of Applecrest Court.
Nov. 29
Attempted fraud: A Southern Boulevard woman told officers a woman with a Jamaican accent called to say the accuser had won $1 million but would have to send $170 to claim her winnings.
Arrest: Police took custody of 22-year-old Amanda C. Seman, 3515 Belden Ave., Youngstown, who was at the Mahoning County jail. Seman faced two counts of complicity after a vehicle in the 7100 block of Tiffany Boulevard had been entered and a $200 GPS device stolen.
Theft: Charlene C. Herrmann, 27, of 3804 Liberty Ave., Hubbard, was charged after her father-in-law, of Lockwood Boulevard, noticed $40 missing from his residence.
Arrest: Israel B. Lopez Jr., 38, was arrested at his home, 1900 Brandon Ave., Poland, on felony charges of breaking and entering, vandalism, safecracking and obstructing justice after a break-in at Labor Ready, 4338 Market St. An automated-teller machine was damaged, and wires to exterior lights were cut, a report showed.
Theft: A township woman discovered an unauthorized $84.69 charge made via the Internet.
Theft: A Glenwood Avenue woman noticed four unauthorized deductions totaling about $1,442 to her checking account.
Aggravated menacing: A Southwoods Drive woman found threatening messages on her cell phone.
Breaking and entering: Someone cut a padlock to a vacant home in the 5100 block of South Avenue and stole copper piping from the basement.
Criminal damaging: A filter basket to a furnace exhaust pipe was damaged in the 5500 block of Southern Boulevard.
Theft: A Southwestern Run Drive woman reported her driver’s license, five credit cards and two insurance cards missing.
Harassment: An employee with a Youngstown-Poland Road store reported getting threatening and vulgar calls.
Burglary: To a residence in the 1800 block of Massachusetts Avenue, from which a firearm, a cable box and silver coins were taken.
Theft: A woman at a Doral Drive store reported her wallet stolen.
Identity theft: A Melrose Avenue woman noticed her personal information had been used to make a $206 charge without consent.
Theft: An $80 stereo faceplate was stolen in the 400 block of Melrose Avenue.
Breaking and entering: Someone pried open a shed door in the 300 block of Melrose Avenue before removing a leaf blower and a large aluminum tool.
Nov. 30
Drugs: Authorities received a report that a man was selling marijuana and other drugs from a metal box in the lobby of a Boardman-Poland Road business.
Breaking and entering: Someone broke into the clubhouse of a West Boulevard apartment complex and damaged lighting fixtures and two toilets.
Dec. 1
Drug paraphernalia: Police responded to a vehicle on fire near Sheban Drive and charged 34-year-old Bradley J. Dubas, 7638 West Blvd., Boardman, after saying they found a suspected crack pipe in a cruiser where he had been sitting.
