JD Eicher raising cash for next record

YOUNGSTOWN

Rock band JD Eicher and the Goodnights is raising money to record a second album. Eicher, a Canfield native, makes an appeal to fans on his website, jdeicherandthegoodnights.com. In a short video, he explains how he hopes to raise $7,800 through Kickstarter, an online fund-raising kit for bands. With about 40 days left to go in the effort, the band already has raised more than $2,300.

The new album would follow up the band’s 2009 debut, “The Shape of Things.” If the pledge goal isn’t met by the Jan. 11 deadline, none of the funds can be collected, explains Eicher. Those who do pledge funds will get a copy of the new disc and other items, depending on the amount of the gift.

The band’s next Youngstown show will be Dec. 17 at the Lemon Grove, 122 W. Federal St.
