Help animals in need at Saturday event

The Learning Dog Training and Enrichment Center, 6883 Commerce Drive, will host a holiday open house from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday.

The event will feature rescue organizations including Close to Home Animal Rescue, Happy Trails Farm Animal Sanctuary, Club Pet, Columbiana Humane Society, Angels for Animals, Canine Crusaders, Animal Appeal and Mercer County Humane Society.

Those attending are asked to make a donation of dog or cat food, treats and toys, paper towels and trash bags. A complete list of needed items is available on the website, www.thelearningdog.com.

The event also will feature pet photos with Santa, children’s activities, an auction, giving tree, demonstrations and vendors. For information, call 330-534-4990.
