A summary of recent criminal activity in Girard, Hubbard and Liberty:
GIRARD
Nov. 26
Criminal mischief: Someone used a key to cause $500 in damage to a vehicle in the 1500 block of Oak Street.
Nov. 27
Assault: A man in the 100 block of Church Hill Road told police another man completing work on the accuser’s home punched the homeowner’s face, causing him to strike his head, during an argument related to money.
Nov. 28
Menacing: A South Davis Street woman said a contractor who performed work on her residence has been harassing her.
Criminal damaging: A rear patio-glass door to a home in the 300 block of Prospect Street was damaged.
Harassment: A Trumbull Avenue woman reported receiving a series of unwanted calls during the past several weeks.
Nov. 29
Arrest: Police charged 29-year-old Kristen Smith, 506 Park Ave., Girard, with disorderly conduct after a disturbance in the 10 block of East Broadway Avenue. An intoxicated Smith refused to leave the residence, then became belligerent and uncooperative, a report said.
Harassment: A North Ward Avenue man said he got three days’ worth of unwanted text messages.
Criminal damaging: A vehicle caused lawn damage in the 500 block of East Prospect Street.
Menacing: An East Liberty Street girl reported a male threatened to harm her via text messages.

Nov. 23
Menacing: A School Street woman reported someone has called police on her several times to harass her.
Possible burglary: A woman checking a residence in the 800 block of Jerry Drive noticed a broken window and thought someone might be inside.
Nov. 24
Menacing: An official with the Hubbard School District, 150 Hall Ave., reported having been harassed.
Recovered property: A cell phone was found on South Main Street.
Nov. 26
Attempted burglaries: A woman told police someone made two attempts to break into a residence in the 1000 block of Waugh Drive.
Arrests: Police took into custody Elie Faraj, 25, and Joseph Faraj, 57, both of 429 Windemere Drive, Hubbard. They were wanted on felony charges of receiving stolen property and obstructing justice, respectively.
Nov. 27
Criminal damaging: A car sustained damage in the 1000 block of Doris Drive.
Breaking and entering: Someone entered a storage shed in the 600 block of West Liberty Street.
Criminal mischief: Someone in the 600 block of Meadowland Drive shot a vehicle with a paint ball gun.
Nov. 29
Bad check: A worker for Dave’s Super Tire, 612 N. Main St., reported a woman presented a check with no funds to cover it.

Nov. 25
Attempted fraud/threats: A Logan Way woman reported a man called to say she had won a sweepstakes drawing but would need to send money to claim her prize. The woman, suspecting a scam, hung up, though the man called again and made threats, she told police.
Identity theft: A doctor with a Belmont Avenue business reported getting a call from an Erie, Pa., drug store in which a patient claimed the doctor had given permission to have a prescription handled. The doctor gave no such consent, he said.
Nov. 26
Counterfeit: Two men tried to buy merchandise at Giant Eagle, 4700 Belmont Ave., with three fake $100 bills.
Arrest: Officers responded to a vehicular accident on Tibbetts-Wick Road and charged 50-year-old Eric C. Karnofel, 229 Maple St., Niles, with possession of drugs and several traffic offenses. Two pills were in a cigarette pack, a report showed.
Harassment: A Breezeknoll( Drive man said he got several days’ worth of such calls.
Harassment: The mother of a Keefer Road girl told officers a man contacted her daughter via the Internet and sent text messages. Police advised the man to cease such contact, a report said.
Nov. 27
Breaking and entering: Someone forced open the front door to a home in the 30 block of Scott Lane, then took a 52-inch TV, jewelry, a laptop computer and other property, for a $4,200 loss.
Auto theft: Police arrested a 41-year-old Liberty woman after a Poland woman reported the theft of her 2003 Oldsmobile Alero. A charge of receiving stolen property was pending.
Theft: A 16-year-old Youngstown girl was charged with theft and obstructing official business after undergarments, hair products and other items were stolen from Dollar General, 4425 Logan Way, and when, police said, she provided a false address, date of birth and phone number.
Nov. 28
Theft: A Hubbard woman reported her purse stolen at a Goldie Road store.
Arrest: Youngstown police handed 55-year-old Charles A. Perry, 47 Cleveland Ave., Youngstown, to township authorities. Perry was accused of failing to appear in court to face a theft charge.
Nov. 29
Fraud: A Northview Boulevard man told police he got a $3,800 check from an entity in Rocket Center, W.Va., and that his bank informed the accuser that the check was bogus.
