Ursuline tops Lowellville

Kelsey Cannell had 31 points, three aces and 22 digs, while Krista Patrick had 14 points, two aces, nine kills and 28 digs to lead Ursuline High past Lowellville in volleyball on Monday.

The scores were 25-14, 25-27, 25-21, 25-12.

Kayla Maszczak had three digs, nine assists, two kills, 10 aces and 12 points, while Taylor Hvisdak had five kills, three digs, one block, two aces, one assist and seven points for Lowellville.

LaBrae 25-25-25, Garfield 17-20-12

GARRETTSVILLE

Somer McCoy had 22 serving points and eight aces for the Vikings (1-0), who swept Garfield in three sets.

Courtney Aldridge had six kills, eight digs and a pair of blocks against the G-Men (0-1), and Lindsey Cerimele had 11 assists.

Mathews 25-25-25, Yo. Christian 21-10-13

Youngstown

Three players had three or more service points for the Mustangs (1-0) and another trio had 10 or more kills.

Jessie Gearthart led with 12 points, followed by Steffany Armstrong and Julie Spadafora with 10 each. Spadafora had 30 assists. Dana Coyer had 15 assists for the Eagles (1-2) and Jessica Donlan had 13 kills and digs.

CHAMPION

Jessica Nicholas had 22 kills and two blocks over five sets to help the Flashes (1-0) in their season debut.

Kaylee Baker had 33 assists and 25 total points. The Raiders (0-2) were led by Travia Dukes with 18 points, and Ashley Oswald with nine blocks. Baker also had 17 aces.

Howland 25-25-25, Niles 11-6-9

HOWLAND

Halle Oatridge had 19 service points and seven aces, and Elena Rounsley had 16 assists and three aces for the Tigers (2-1).

The Tigers also had 10 kills and five digs from Nia Grant, seven kills and a pair of digs from Kaylee Redon and six kills and two blocks from Sarah Friend.

Jackson-Milton 25-25, Crestview 20-21

Maddie Griffiths had nine assists, six kills, eight aces and eight points; Colleen Maskavinec had 11 kills and one ace and Erica Hughes had eight kills, one block, one ace and one point for Jackson-Milton (1-2).

For Crestview, Morgan Newbauer had five assists, eight digs and one point; Chelsea Caudill had seven digs and four points, Chelsea Gamble had two aces, four digs and six points and Shanelle Davner two kills and two blocks.

Lauren Mitchell had 15 assists, nine points and four aces; Maria Shields had 10 digs, two aces and 12 points and Tessa Lunger had five kills, four aces and eight blocks for Heartland.

For Jackson-Milton, Rachael Obradavich had eight points and eight assists and Maddie Griffiths had seven points and six aces.

Tessa Lunger had five kills, two blocks, eight aces and 13 points, Olivia Test had seven kills, six blocks, eight aces and nine points and Lauren Mitchell had 12 assists, five kills, five aces and 10 points for Heartland. For Crestview, Morgan Newbauer had 13 assists and one kill, Shanelle Davner had five kills and two blocks; Emma Merrill had four kills, one ace, three points and four digs and Sarah VanFossen had six points and two digs.
