POLAND
The Poland athletic department will be offering a shuttle service for Friday’s football game against Austintown Fitch, starting at 5 p.m.
The shuttle location will be the vacant lot located behind Handels Ice Cream on the corner of Ohio route 224 and Clingan Rd.
The shuttle drop off and pick up location will be on the visitors’ side of the stadium.
The shuttle will end approximately one hour after the completion of the game. The shuttle service is complimentary.
Baseball champions
The Action Physical Therapy/Astro Falcons 15 under team won the Triple Crown Eastern Regional 16 under baseball title.
The local team defeated teams from Virginia, New York, Ohio and Michigan, before downing ERA Elite from Scranton/Wilkes Barre in the championship, 18-3.
In the tourney the local team outscored the competition 57-9.
They now advance to play at St. Augustine, Fla. in October and at the Baseball Congress World Series in Las Vegas.
On the team are Jake Froats, Chris Maze, Phil and Nico Dianni, Ryan Brumbaugh, Brooks Pletcher, Mark Bibattiste, Christian Porterfield, Matt Gorden, Jared Weisen, Alex Weigart, Nick Carlo, Alex Stripmatter, Nick Mailillis and Kurt Kuszamel.

Race fans at Sharon Speedway on Saturday were treated to a night packed full of race action at the conclusion of the points series.
The evening included FASTRAK Late Models and the final night of points racing for the Governor Insurance Inc. Big Blocks, E-Mods, Limited Sprints, Hobby Stocks and Pro Stocks.
Jack Sodeman Jr. had previously been named the 410 Sprint Champion. Robbie Blair was the initial leader of the 25-lap FASTRAK Late Model feature.
A restart on the second lap put father and son, Robbie and Max Blair, at one-and-two.
Pittsburgh gets team in expanded Arena league
TULSA, Okla.
The Arena Football League will add new teams in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, San Jose and Kansas City and expand its schedule to 18 games next season.
Commissioner Jerry Kurz announced the changes Monday, raising the league’s membership from 15 to 19 teams.
All four of the cities had AFL teams before the league folded following the 2008 season. The league was reconstructed earlier this year with teams from the original Arena Football League and arenafootball2.
The Spokane Shock beat the Tampa Bay Storm for the Arena Bowl title on Aug. 20.
Gatlin gets first real test of comeback
ROVERETO, Italy
Former Olympic champion Justin Gatlin is looking forward to the first serious test of his return from a four-year doping ban.
In Tuesday’s Palio della Quercia meet, the American will face three runners who have beaten the 10-second mark this season: Johan Blake (9.89) and Mario Forsythe (9.95) of Jamaica and Ryan Bailey (9.88) of the United States.
Bailey and Forsythe set their times in Sunday’s Rieti Grand Prix.
Gatlin has posted victories at three minor meets in Estonia and Finland since being cleared to compete again, although his fastest time was 10.17 seconds.
Gilbert wins third stage at Spanish Vuelta
MALAGA, Spain
Philippe Gilbert of Belgium pulled ahead in the overall standings in the Spanish Vuelta on Monday, using a strong surge to the finish line on a sweltering afternoon to win the hilly third stage.
Tejay Van Garderen, the young American in his first grand tour, survived his first test in the hills and is in fourth place overall.
Gilbert finished the 98-mile ride from Marbella in 4 hours, 6 minutes, 12 seconds to take over the red jersey.
The Pharma-Lotto rider beat Katusha’s Joaquin Rodriguez by three seconds in the stage and leads him by 14 seconds in the general classification.
