Girard girls now 3-0

KINSMAN

The Girard High girls soccer team improved to 3-0 this season with a 5-4 victory over Badger on Monday night.

Girard jumped off to a 3-0 halftime lead before Badger (0-3) came back in the second half to tie the game at 4-4 before Amanda Pavlak scored the winning goal with three minutes to play.

Pam Douglas, Brielle Bello and Toni Costarella also scored for the Indians. Anna Britt, Kayla Richey and Pam Douglas had assists for Girard.

Jennilyn Krumpe scored three goals for Badger (0-3) and Olivia Vanscoy also scored for the Braves. Kayleen Meardith and Angelique Armstrong each had two assists for Badger.

Meagan McNicholas had 15 saves for Girard and Megun Hunkus had eight saves for the Braves.

South Range 8, Crestview 0

New Waterford

Seven different players scored for the Raiders in the rout of the Inter Tri-County League rival Rebels.

Junior Hannah Weiry had two goals, while seniors Kelli Johnston, Marie Stephenson and Katelin Smith, junior Abbey Ausenhmer and sophomores Rachel Coler and Toni Stephenson each had one. Emily Meals had three assists, and goalkeeper Kristin Robinson had only one save.

Megan Foster had 15 saves for the Rebels.

Bristol 4, Maplewood 0

BRISTOLVILLE

Lauren Elza had two goals, while Lindsey Elza and Caitlyn Rasmussen had single goals for the Panthers (1-1).

The Elza sisters also had an assist apiece, as did Samantha Hickey and Michelle Termine.

Maplewood goalie Valerie Blank and Bristol’s Hickey both had 12 saves. Maplewood is 1-2.

Poland 8, Springfield 1

New Middletown

Two players scored twice, and four others scored one goal each for the Bulldogs.

Madison Brooker and Tatum Marucci had two goals each for Poland, while Caroly Balzalno, Abby Renoel, Chann Conzett and Kelsey Malenic all scored one.

Abby Brenoel and Brooker each had two assists, while Payton Maurer and Erin Careiro each had one.

Poladn goalies Abby Frank and Jessica Rutana combined for six saves,

Haley Sullivan scored for Springfield, while Jillian Tabaka had 25 saves and Kayla Weaver had three saves.

Hubbard 2, Beaver Local 0

HUBBARD

Senior forward Mary LaCivita had both goals for the Eagles (2-1). Hubbard goalie Mariah Gordon had seven saves. JVs: 0-0.

Boys

NORTH LIMA

Clay Linhart, Tanner Goss and Zach Moore had goals for Crestview, which defeated ITCL rival South Range, 3-0, on Monday.

Alex DeSalvo and Moore had assists for the Rebels. Derek Bable had seven saves.

Cardinal Mooney 7, Warren JFK 1

YOUNGSTOWN

The Cardinals (1-2) scored four first-half goals to win their first game of the season.

Mooney added another three in the second half to seal it. Matt Ramsey scored two of the goals.

The Eagles (1-1) scored their only goal in the first half when Jeff Croyts kicked it past Mooney’s Dalton Smith.
