AP Exclusive: Secret testimony reveals stars’ loss

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Recently unsealed grand jury testimony reveals the loss six celebrities felt after their homes were burglarized and millions of dollars of luxury goods were taken by the so-called “Bling Ring.”

For two days in late June, stars such as Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton and Orlando Bloom testified before a Los Angeles County grand jury about the break-ins. The result was an indictment against five young people on charges of burglarizing the stars’ homes between October 2008 and August 2009.

While the celebrities described plenty of high-end goods that were pilfered, transcripts of their testimony reveal they also lost a sense of security and trust.

Lohan, for instance, said she had to move after her house was burglarized. Bloom told jurors he became distrustful of those close to him.
