3 die in medical helicopter crash in Arkansas
SCOTLAND, Ark. (AP) — Aviation authorities say three crew members are dead after the medical helicopter they were aboard crashed in central Arkansas.
Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Lynn Lunsford says the Air Evac helicopter crashed at about 4:15 a.m. today near the Scotland community in Van Buren County.
No patients were on board the Bell 206.
Lunsford says there apparently was no distress call.
Investigators from the FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board are heading to the scene to investigate.
Scotland is about 80 miles north of Little Rock in central Arkansas.
