Newlywed killed following relative’s reception

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Police say a Pittsburgh man is dead after being shot following a relative’s wedding reception.

Police say 26-year-old Gabriel Turner died early Sunday morning after being shot and walking several blocks before collapsing from the wound.

Family members say Turner had left a relative’s wedding reception in the Sheraden neighborhood and was on his way to his mother-in-law’s house when he was shot. Police say Turner collapsed outside a senior citizen high rise after ringing a bell for help.

A family member says Turner was recently wed himself. He had been married in June and had six children.

Family members scoured the neighborhood for evidence in the hours after the shooting. Police say the investigation continues.
