Damian J. Rodriguez, 36, of Oxford Street, Campbell, is in Mahoning County Jail after being accused of stabbing Kevin Sabo, 33, of the 300 block of Bessemer St. at 1:11 p.m. Saturday.

Police were called to the Bessemer Street residence where they found Sabo on the living-room floor with a stab wound to his left side. He was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center, where he is in stable condition.

A witness at the scene said Rodriguez borrowed a cell phone to make a call and went outside the residence. Sabo followed to retrieve the phone, and a physical altercation ensued. Rodriguez fled on foot, and on a tip, Rodriguez was apprehended at 8:55 p.m. in the 400 block of Edwards Street.

He was charged with two counts of felonious assault, aggravated burglary and auto theft plus a warrant for aggravated burglary from Austintown.
