Mitchells mark golden date at private party

Mr. and Mrs. William Mitchell of Hubbard celebrated the 50th anniversary of their marriage at a private dinner party Aug. 21 at the Fifth Season in Austintown

The couple’s sons and their spouses hosted the festivities. They are Robert and Joan Mitchell of Minneapolis, James Mitchell of Brooklyn, N.Y., and John and Abbe Mitchell of Washington, D.C.

Mrs. Mitchell, the former Rosemarie Christy, was director of admissions for John XXIII Home in Hermitage before she retired in 1996. She is a member of St. Patrick Church in Hubbard.

Mr. Mitchell was a senior market research analyst for LTV Steel Co. in Cleveland before he retired in 1996. He is a member of First Presbyterian Church in Hubbard. He served as a navigator in the U.S. Air Force, where he achieved the rank of captain.

The couple were married Aug. 20, 1960, at St. John Byzantine Catholic Church in Farrell.
