Dinner party pays tribute to Hitchcocks’ 60th
CANFIELD
Harold and Arlene Hitchcock, of Canfield, celebrated the 60th anniversary of their wedding Thursday during a small dinner party at their home.
Hosting the party and extending invitations was their daughter, Kara Hitchcock, of Boardman.
Mr. Hitchcock and the former Arlene Beede were married on Aug. 26, 1950, at Trinity United Methodist Church, the Chapel of Friendly Bells, in Youngstown. They are members of Canfield Christian Church.
Mrs. Hitchcock taught English and Latin at Canfield and Boardman schools before she retired in 1991. She also served as a substitute schoolteacher for various school districts. She serves as a part-time organist at their church.
Mr. Hitchcock was employed as personnel director for Van Huffel Sheet & Tube in Warren. He retired in 1985. He served in the U.S. army from 1954-1956.
