Cardinals, Tigers roll to shutout soccer victories

CANFIELD

PJ Stickle scored two goals to lead the Canfield High boys soccer team past Fitch, 5-0, on Saturday.

Also scoring were Ronnie Mangie, Mike DeRose and Tony El-Hayek. Julian Fusillo and Steve Negley had an assists.

Mike Thomas made three saves for the Cardinals.

Fitch goalkeepers Nick Sheely and Chris Platton combined for six saves.

JV: Canfield, 4-1.

Howland 6, Beaver Local 0

LISBON

Joseph Law scored two goals while Connor Gilmour, Scott Heinemann, Benji Rush and Anthony Russo each scored once for the Tigers.

Chris McClearn assisted twice while Gilmour and Taylor Monroe each had one assist as the Tigers built a 4-0 lead at the break.

Robert Daniels made two saves and Tyler Spain had four for Howland in goal.

Beaver Local goalkeeper Andrew Rice made four saves.

KINSMAN

Tory Elsea scored the goal on an assist from Allen Willey for the Braves (3-0-0). Goalkeepers Taylor Matson and Tyler Lucy combined for a four-save shutout.

For Harding (0-3-0), Charles Wargo made six saves.

Goalkeeper Ali Tolich made seven saves for the Falcons (2-0-1). Jackie Podolsky had five stops for the Cardinals (1-0-1).

Katelin Smith scored the goal an assist from sophomore Toni Stephenson.

Goalkeeper Kristin Robinson made seven saves for the Raiders.

Mooney goalkeeper Rachael Letcher made five saves.

Howland 4, West Branch 2

BELOIT

Seyla Perez scored two goals while Olivia Nicholas and Erika Nites each added a goal and an assist. Kim Sefcik also had an assist and Kristen James had one save.

For West Branch, Toni Dickinson and Brandi Snyder each scored and Sierra Wolf had six saves.

CORTLAND

Allison Pavlik scored the goal for the Bulldogs (2-1-0). Casey Boldt made eight saves and Elaine Moldovan one. For the Golden Flashes (0-1-0), Taylor Petersal made 21 saves.

LEAVITTSBURG

Angela Guiliano and Brooke Rodgers each had first-half goals for the Tigers (3-0-0). Stephanie Nussle saved six shots from the Vikings (1-1-0) and Racquel Mayfield had an assist.

BRISTOLVILLE

Jackie Tabor, Emily Hartman and Megan Hadzinsky each scored for Garfield, while Laura Sanicky had one save.

Katlyn Rasmussen scored for Bristol (0-1) while Michelle Termine had the assist. Samantha Hickey (six saves) and Allison Jones (three saves) were the goalkeepers.
