YSU CASE | Witness list
A total of 10 people who would have been beneficiaries of unauthorized pension credit in the Youngstown State University payroll scandal case are on a witness list. All benefits have been adjusted to proper levels, according to the Public Employees Retirement System of Ohio. Six are listed in the university directory as current employees. They are:
Raymond J. Cruickshank: a groundskeeper.
Sheila Maldonado: a human-resources benefits management representative and the wife of Ivan Maldonado.
Richard J. Sweany: administrative assistant in registration.
Roman P. Swerdan: storeroom supervisor.
Mark A. Welton: data security supervisor in network telecommunications.
Bernice M. Hamrock: administrative assistant in the payroll department.
Four more haven’t been listed in any YSU directory over the past four years. They are:
Cory V. Carfora of Cincinnati, Michael A. Pieton of Hubbard, Frank Richards of Campbell, and Maria E. Volpe of Girard.
