Standards explained
Each district is measured against 26 state indicators and also given a performance index score (PI). The performance index measure rewards the achievement of every student, not just those who score proficient of higher. The report card shows value-added results, a measure that reflects how much progress was made since the previous year. Adequate yearly progress (AYP) is based on participation and proficiency rate goals in 10 student subgroups.
PASSING SCORE ON TESTS
Districts are required to have at least 75 percent proficient or higher in grades three through eight in reading and math, grades five and eight in science and the Ohio Graduation test for 10th graders. For the 11th grade OGT, it’s 85 percent. The attendance standard is 93 percent and the graduation standard is 90 percent.
