Boardman tennis coach brings pro experience

Joe Dagati returns to the area to become the girls tennis coach, hoping his team can make some noise in the highly-competitive Federal League.
A 1971 Ursuline graduate, he has been a Certified Teaching Pro for over 13 years with the P.T.A. (Professional Tennis Registry), is a former USTA nationally-ranked Mixed Doubles player and most recently served as the Director of Tennis at the Dove Mountain Resort in Tucson, Ariz.
“We’re a young team with a sophomore playing No. 1 singles and a junior at No. 2 singles. We are mentally tough, however, and have strong shots. We will need to get stronger in our doubles play, so that is a focus right now,” Dagati said.
Sophomore Lindsay Kirkham-Olsen (10-1 last year) moves up two positions to the No. 1 singles slot with junior Arina Kravitz, now in her third year as a varsity member, holding down the No. 2 singles position.
Playing at No. 3 is senior Michelle Kordupel.
Senior Jen Moore (captain) and sophomore Nicole Pavlansky are the No. 1 doubles team with Kelly Kordupel and Rachel Cantanzriti (co-captain) comprising the No. 2 doubles duo.
The junior varsity consists of Fran Stanko (No. 1), Gina Rosati (No. 2) and Lily Hockenberry (No. 3) in singles. Betsy Bresnahan and Dyana Zeidenstein are the No. #1 doubles team and Taylor Phillips and Sarah Demetruk are the No. 2 doubles squad.
