Aug. 7

Arrest: Lordstown police handed to Boardman authorities 32-year-old Michael E. Jenkins, 304 S. Hazelwood Ave., Youngstown, who was wanted on felony warrants charging him with two counts of kidnapping and one each of aggravated burglary and domestic violence. A Shadyside Drive woman alleged Jenkins had entered her residence and attacked her, then prevented the accuser and her son from escaping.

Domestic violence: David M. Cunningham, 45, of 18 Beechwood Drive, Boardman, was charged with the crime after his girlfriend alleged Cunningham choked her twice and threw her down the basement steps during an argument.

Theft: A $200 cell phone was taken from a car parked in the 7400 block of South Avenue.

Possible arson: Township police and firefighters responded to an apartment fire in the 1900 block of Wolosyn Circle that caused about $1,000 of damage to a living-room carpet. No one was hurt.

Domestic violence: Mark W. Shawl, 46, of 6959 Tippecanoe Road, Boardman, faced a felony count after his girlfriend alleged he had pushed her into a wall. Shawl’s charge was upgraded because of a previous domestic-violence conviction, a report showed.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle at the Southern Park Mall was found with a punctured tire-valve stem.

Theft: Police charged Brendan E. Bone, 18, of 6778 Fox Hunt Court, Boardman, with stealing a $39 air-soft pistol from Walmart, 1300 Doral Drive.

Drugs: Police charged Rodney D. Best, 24, of 7210 Glendale Ave., Boardman, with trafficking in marijuana, driving under suspension and operating a vehicle impaired after having been pulled over near Market Street. Best removed four bags of suspected marijuana he said he had bought for $5 each, a report showed.

Theft: A $30 safe was stolen from Rite Aid Pharmacy, 307 Boardman-Canfield Road.

Theft: A man in his 30s stole electronics items from Walgreens Pharmacy, 525 E. Midlothian Blvd.

Theft: An $80 piece of video software was stolen from Best Buy, 561 Boardman-Poland Road.

Aug. 8

Theft: A $100 bicycle was removed from a front yard in the 60 block of Terrace Drive.

Stolen property: Police charged Arnold J. Ash, 44, of 7053 West Blvd., Boardman, with receiving stolen property and possession of a drug-abuse instrument after being found near Glenwood Avenue with a garbage bag that reportedly contained items stolen from a Market Street store.

Burglary: Took place in the 8500 block of Ivy Hill Drive. Golf clubs were missing from the garage.

Vandalism: A double-pane window was broken, resulting in a $750 damage estimate, in the 4800 block of Southern Boulevard.

Vandalism: Someone deliberately cut a 7-inch hole in a front window at Tropical Pet House, 5005 Market St.

Aug. 9

Menacing: Police charged Jose A. Rodriguez, 21, of 344 Melrose Ave., Boardman, after a woman alleged a neighbor had threatened to beat her up.

Criminal damaging: A mirror and a tire were damaged on a vehicle in the 400 block of Boardman-Poland Road.

Theft: A boys bicycle was stolen in the 6600 block of Southern Boulevard.

Aggravated menacing: A Melrose Avenue woman told authorities a neighbor threatened to sexually assault and kill her.

Theft: An $80 bicycle was removed from a porch in the 700 block of Edenridge Drive.

Vandalism: Someone chipped the paint and caused cracks to a sailboat at Agnew Farm Equipment, 7700 Market St. Damage came to $3,000.

Drugs: Police arrested Andrew M. Jones, 25, of 4190 Bob-O-Link Drive, on three drug charges as police investigated a suspicious vehicle at a Boardman-Canfield Road business. Jones had a small bag of suspected marijuana and a suspected marijuana pipe was in the car, officers said.

Disrupting public services: A Chester Drive woman accused her landlord of deliberately cutting a wire to her electric meter.

Vandalism: A rock was tossed through a window at Angel Carriers LLC, 5095 Market St.

Theft: A $100 bicycle was stolen in the 100 block of Erskine Avenue.

Aug. 10

Burglary: To a home in the 4500 block of Grover Drive. Among the items stolen were a TV, a laptop computer, a Wii game system and several video games.

Arrest: Police charged 42-year-old Dwayne E. Kirk, 22 E. Lewis St., Struthers, with violating a protection order after getting a report of someone near South Avenue trying to get a woman into a vehicle and taking an infant from her. The woman had such an order against Kirk, authorities said.

Theft: An in-dash compact-disc/TV and an MP3 player were removed from a car parked in the 100 block of Clifton Drive.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle in the 200 block of Shields Road sustained interior damage.

Theft: A $300 global positioning system unit was taken from a truck on Aylesboro Avenue.

Possible theft: A worker for Beeghly Oaks, 6505 Market St., discovered two OxyContin tablets missing.

Theft: A GPS device, a computer part, money and a check were missing from a car in the 20 block of Melbourne Avenue.

Theft: Someone stole a $114 pair of eyeglass frames from Walmart.

Burglary: Occurred in the 1400 block of Tori Pines Court, where jewelry was missing from a dresser.

Fraud: A Grover Drive man reported receiving a letter claiming he had won a $129,000 lottery, along with a fictitious check stating it could be used to pay taxes from the winnings.

Theft: Property was removed from two vehicles in the 40 block of Aylesboro Avenue.

Theft: Officers took into custody 21-year-old Christopher M. Sarno at his township residence, 5225 Old Oxford Lane, on a warrant charging him with the crime.

Possible assaults: A man told authorities he saw swelling and bruises on his 3-year-old daughter as well as injuries to his former girlfriend of Old Oxford Lane.

Attempted burglary: Someone tried to break into a garage in the 7700 block of East Parkside Drive.

Arrest: While responding to an assault in the 6000 block of Applecrest Court, police charged 19-year-old Dezmond K. Woodley, 6063 Applecrest, with assault, aggravated menacing, possession of drugs, criminal trespassing, criminal damaging, resisting arrest and obstructing official business. A woman alleged Woodley had pushed, choked and threw her against a wall after asking him to leave; another person reported he threatened to return with a gun, and police said Woodley refused to cooperate.

Aug. 11

Domestic violence: Police charged Edward J. Garman, 39, of 7720 Silver Fox Drive, Boardman, with domestic violence and obstructing official business after his son alleged an intoxicated Garman fought with him, causing cuts and scrapes. Garman also refused to allow police to enter the residence, they said.

Arrest: Anthony S. Tuaroch, 36, of 3346 Carson Salt Springs Road, Warren, was picked up on Terrace Drive on a warrant from Trumbull County charging him with violating a protection order.
