Seven area Scottish Rite Masons to be honored at council meeting


PHILADELPHIA

The Supreme Council of Scottish Rite Freemasonry will elevate some 163 Thirty-second Degree Scottish Rite Masons to the Thirty-third Degree during a special ceremony on Tuesday at the Academy of Music Theater. The Thirty-third Degree is honored for outstanding achievement within the fraternity or for contributions to others reflecting credit on Freemasonry.

Among those to be honored are seven Masons from the northeastern Ohio area who were elected a year ago at the annual council meeting in Boston. They are:

Michael J. Bailey, 6016 Kingle Road, Clinton, sheet metal fabricator.

James W. Himmelright, 361 E. Friendship St., Medina, retired manufacturing manager.

Thomas G. Hutchins, 11937 Basswood Ave. NW, Uniontown, retired R&D, Goodyear.

David A. Trautwein, 80 Warren St., Rittman, diemaker, Rohrer Corp.

Patrick J. Mann, 7126 Chippewa Road, Medina, financial adviser.

Robert M. Brienik, 4305 Woodleigh Lane, Youngstown, retired, General Motors management.

Timothy N. Flack,. 2908 Lincoln Ave., Struthers, manager, Youngstown Masonic Temple.

Following the ceremony the names of those who have been selected to receive the degree next year in Chicago will be announced.

A vesper service on Sunday afternoon will open the three-day meeting at the Marriott Philadelphia Downtown Hotel and the Academy of Music Theater.

More than 2,000 Thirty-third Degree Masons and their wives from the 15 northeastern and midwestern states will be in attendance.
