Frank W. Prusky, 42, is in the Trumbull County jail on an aggravated-robbery charge in an Aug. 20 incident at the Dollar General store, 501 Church Hill Road.

Police said that Prusky, who is on federal parole for bank robbery, also is a suspect in Tuesday’s robbery at Huntington Bank, 29 E. Liberty St. The suspect, who was armed with a knife, escaped with an unspecified amount of cash.

Prusky has addresses at 1735 Greenville Road, Bristolville, and the 400 block of North Avenue.

In the incident involving an attempted robbery and abduction at Dollar General, a police report noted that the suspect came up to the checkout with a shopping cart of items including a DVD player. He took out a white toy pistol and reportedly told the salesclerk repeatedly, "You better go to your car.” When the clerk refused, the police report said, the suspect brandished a knife from his waistband and a pair of scissors; both were recovered and are in evidence.

Another incident occurred Aug. 17. An assault took place about 4:45 p.m. in the parking lot of Family Dollar, 900 N. State St., where the suspect was pushing a shopping cart of merchandise, according to a police report. A witness saw a female employee of the store go after the man, who crossed Harry Street into the parking lot of Town Center Plaza, the report said. The witness, who had been working in his yard, told the suspect to stop but he did not, and the witness physically attempted to stop the suspect, the report said. The man yelled for help, but no one came forward. The suspect escaped without the merchandise.

The witness reported the suspect’s speech was slurred.
