POLICE CALLS

A summary of recent criminal activity in Hubbard, Girard and Liberty:

HUBBARD

Aug. 21

Recovered property: A stolen motorcycle was found on Church Hill-Hubbard Road.

Aug. 22

Menacing: A man in the 800 block of West Park Avenue reported another man threatened him.

Assault: Officers received a report that three males on Rebecca Avenue had assaulted a man, who was taken to Forum Health Northside Medical Center in Youngstown.

Aug. 23

Criminal mischief: Eggs were thrown at a vehicle in the 100 block of West Liberty Street.

Arrest: A traffic stop in the 200 block of West Liberty Street resulted in the arrest of Larry Armes, no age given, of 1973 Deer Creek Run Drive, Cortland. He was wanted on three warrants from the county.

Aug. 24

Weapon: An Ava Court resident reported hearing four gunshots from a nearby wooded area.

GIRARD

Aug. 23

Theft: A Church Hill Road woman accused her roommate of stealing and pawning her computer and a treadmill.

Assaults: A Market Street woman told officers a male pushed her daughter’s friend who was roller skating, then punched her son in the face. The male said he accidentally stepped on the girl’s foot and denied having punched the son.

Aug. 24

Criminal mischief: Someone in the 500 block of East Broadway Avenue threw pieces of concrete and destroyed a lawn chair.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle in the 300 block of East Prospect Street was found with someone’s initials carved into the finish.

Menacing: A Church Hill Road man said his former girlfriend and another man have been threatening to harm him via phone and text messages.

Criminal mischief: Two of a car’s tires were slashed in the 500 block of Park Avenue.

Aug. 25

Criminal damaging: A truck belonging to a North State Street business had its tires slashed.

Theft: Hubcaps were stolen off a car in the 800 block of Woodlawn Avenue.

Criminal damaging: Someone tossed a large rock into a swimming pool in the 600 block of Prospect Street, then damaged a fence.

Theft: An Olive Street woman reported her purse and a cell phone stolen.

LIBERTY

Aug. 20

Criminal damaging: A key was used to damage a vehicle’s driver’s side and trunk in the 2900 block of Northview Boulevard. The estimate was $500.

Theft: A $125 global positioning system unit was removed from a van in the 300 block of Catherine Street.

Criminal damaging: A metal door was damaged at the Save-A-Lot store in the Liberty Plaza.

Arrest: Police stopped a motorcycle near Colonial Drive, then charged Larry P. Villers II, 29, of 1854 Cordova Ave., Youngstown, with receiving stolen property when, they said, the motorcycle had been stolen. Villers also was wanted on a probation-violation charge.

Arrest: Vicki L. Parisi, 49, of 516 Sherman Ave., Niles, was picked up at the Mahoning County jail on a warrant from the township charging her with theft.

Recovered property: Two unclaimed bicycles were recovered in the 3000 block of Green Acres Drive.

Theft: Police issued a summons to 57-year-old Suzanne Bellino, 6469 Mason Ave., Hubbard, charging her with criminal trespassing and theft after a bottle of nasal spray had been taken from Rite Aid Pharmacy, 2704 Belmont Ave. Bellino also disregarded a warning to stay off the property, a report showed.

Arrest: John Kloos, 38, was taken into custody at his residence, 1209 Rose Ave., Girard, on warrants from Liberty as well as a criminal-trespassing charge.

Aug. 21

Stolen property: Police stopped a vehicle near Gypsy Lane, then took 58-year-old Charles E. Traylor Jr., 860 Sunshine Ave., Youngstown, into custody on a felony count of receiving stolen property. Traylor had a loaded 9 mm semiautomatic handgun that had been stolen in Springfield Township, Pa., a report said.

Misuse of a credit card: Howland police handed 20-year-old Delshawn L. Torres, 545 Highland Ave. SW, Warren, to township authorities. Warrants charged Torres with misuse and complicity to misuse of credit cards.

Aug. 22

Domestic violence: James M. Wagner, 39, of 1182 Church Hill-Hubbard Road, Liberty, was charged with the crime after his girlfriend alleged Wagner had choked her and slammed her head against a wall at the home.

Recovered property: A wallet belonging to a Michigan man was found in a vehicle in the 30 block of James Lane.

Theft/criminal damaging: A TV and equipment were missing from or damaged in a room at a Belmont Avenue motel.

Aug. 23

Arrest: Authorities pulled over a car near Colonial Drive and arrested 24-year-old Valentino A. Singer, 640 Cohasset Drive, Youngstown, on a warrant from Austintown. Singer also was charged with driving under suspension.

Harassment: A township woman reported her 10-year-old daughter and her son have been receiving multiple unwanted and harassing calls.

Theft: A Youngstown woman reported her $750 laptop computer stolen from an apartment in the 4100 block of Logan Gate Road.

Aug. 24

Burglary: To a residence in the 10 block of Trumbull Court, from which a $300 Xbox game system and loose change were taken.

Vandalism: A driver backed into and did about $3,000 of damage to a gas pump at a BP station, 2703 Belmont Ave., before fleeing.

Harassment: A Laurel Drive woman said her former boyfriend has been making a series of unwanted and harassing calls.

Arrest: Police responded to a disturbance in the 3000 block of North Gate Road and took into custody 20-year-old Kerisha A. Wallace, 3038 North Gate, on a warrant accusing her of failing to appear in court on a theft charge.

Theft by deception: A Tibbetts-Wick Road woman trying to buy a vehicle online reported having made a wire transfer of $6,200 to someone in Cedar Hill, Texas, then learning she was a fraud victim.
