I voiced my opinion on the un- fair WRTA levy that was on the ballot in November 2008.

In that letter I stated, “We must band together and defeat this unfair tax, which will in no way benefit the Youngstown suburbs, and rural communities.” Jim Ferraro, executive director of WRTA stated, “This issue will help us expand services to the areas and the people who need it most.”

As a resident of Sebring, I have yet to see a WRTA vehicle in our vicinity. Several times I have observed WRTA buses in the Boardman area, and have yet to see a rider on these very expensive buses.

The residents of western Mahoning County are paying a tax that benefits Youngstown, and Youngstown only. Just like another Mill Creek Park tax that we pay, and get nothing in return.
