Tree falls on Ohio landscaper, killing him

AVON, Ohio (AP) — A tree being removed from an Ohio golf course has fallen on the owner of a landscaping service, killing the man.

The Lorain County coroner says 42-year-old Guy Goodman, of LaGrange, was killed instantly in Tuesday’s accident at the Hilliard Lakes Golf Course west of Cleveland. Coroner Dr. Paul Matus says Goodman’s head, neck and body were crushed.

Lt. Eric Dudziak with the Avon Fire Department says at its base the tree was 4 to 5 feet wide. Dudziak says it slipped out of a front-end loader and fell on Goodman after he and two crew members from his Goodman Yard Works business had cut it down.
