Three men were taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center after being shot Tuesday afternoon on the city’s South Side.

Police arrived at East Boston Avenue about 1:15 p.m. and found shattered glass, tire marks, shell casings and bullet fragments at the scene.

A 41-year-old man was shot in his upper chest after witnesses say he walked up to a gray Pontiac Grand Prix, according to police reports.

A 21-year-old man told police he was driving a silver Pontiac Grand Am on Rush, between Indianola and Boston, when occupants of a gray Grand Prix opened fire. Police said the 21-year-old was wounded in the left arm and back.

A third man, 22, was shot in the back and side while walking on East Boston between Rush and Erie, police said. The man told officers that he heard five shots come from a gray Grand Prix, but he could not see inside.
