YORKTOWN, Va.
St. Luke United Methodist Church was the setting for the June 12 wedding of Heather Michelle White and James Bradley Rhoads, both of Hampton, Va. The Rev. Douglas Gestwick officiated at the 3 p.m. ceremony.
A reception later that day at Deer Run Golf Resort Pavilion in Newport News, Va., honored the daughter of Tom and Sharon White of Mechanicsville, Va., and the son of James and Mary Lou Rhoads of North Jackson.
The couple honeymooned in the Bahamas and live in Hampton.
The bride’s white satin halter-style gown was adorned with silver accents and featured a corset back.
Burgundy-colored gowns were worn by Lindsey Andrews, the honor attendant, and the bridesmaids, Jean Rhoads, a sister of the groom, and Crystal Townsend, the bride’s cousin. Flower girl was Reagan Bennett.
The groom’s father was his best man, and groomsmen were Phil Buyalos and Justin Lewis. Ring bearers were Reece and Ty Gustafson, cousins of the groom, and ushers were Matthew White, the bride’s brother, and Aaron Townsend, her cousin.
Mrs. Rhoads graduated cum laude from Christopher Newport University with a bachelor’s degree in biology and is pursuing a degree in pediatric medicine at Eastern Virginia Medical School. She is an insurance agent with No Fees Insurance.
The groom is a designer engineer with Northrop Grumman in Newport News. He graduated from ITT Technical Institute with an associate degree in drafting and design.
The couple accepted congratulations from guests during a postnuptial reception that took place on July 31 at North Jackson Community Center.
