Promoting project: Austintown Rotarians learned that the population of Austintown is 21 percent seniors, which is higher than most of the country, when Bill Adams, chairman of Citizens for Betterment of Austintown, spoke at their Aug. 16 meeting. Adams explained that Austintown Generational Enrichment Corp., a nonprofit organization, is seeking to establish senior citizen centers to enrich the lives of Mahoning County residents over 60. He said a federally funded program will start in September and will provide meals three days a week for 52 seniors. Joining the speaker was Susan Leetch, Rotary president.
