We could use a flower lady

Just a short note recognizing the Mary Haith Savage article in the Our Towns section of the Aug. 8 Parade magazine. Savage certainly stood out as “The Flower Lady” in the Homewood section of Pittsburgh.

She sure did the equivalent of full time work as a volunteer. She believed the image of a community was important. She enjoyed her work.

We certainly would benefit if we had someone like Mary Savage in Youngstown. We would be in a better place.
