Wagners observe 50th anniversary at picnic outing

A picnic on Aug. 21 at their summer home in Lake Milton was arranged in celebration of the 50th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Wagner of Lake Milton.

Invitations for the event were extended by the couple’s children and their spouses, Matt and Heather Wagner and Becky and Mike Kenneally, all of Girard; Wendy and Dave DiBernadi of Boardman; and Mark and Wendy Wagner of Howland. The family includes nine grandchildren and one great-grandchildren.

The former Sally Avery and Mr. Wagner were united in marriage on Aug. 20, 1960, at First United Methodist Church of Girard, where they are members.

Mrs. Wagner retired in 2005 as a real estate appraiser with Wagner Appraisals in Girard. She is a Sunday school teacher and a member of the Lydia Circle and the funeral luncheon committee at the church.

Mr. Wagner served with the U.S. Navy and was employed at Wagner Appraisals and as a teacher with Youngstown City Schools prior to retiring in 1987. He is a past president of YEA Teachers Union, a former Navy boxing champion and Golden Gloves champion, a Curbstone Coaches boxing honoree and an inductee in the Legends of Leather Hall of Fame.
