As summer came to an end in 1983, Girard High School students Daria Nall and Cindy Exline didn’t know that they would be among the last people to ride Idora Park’s historic Wildcat roller coaster. This photo was taken for an end-of-summer feature that ran Aug. 27. The Wildcat was destroyed by fire the following April, before Idora reopened for what would be its final season.
