Warren G. Harding coach D.J. Dota says there are three things he wants for his team to be successful. The first two involve continuity, and the third focuses on special teams. Dota says the senior leadership will be crucial for this year’s squad. The Raiders lost only four players to graduation. Among them was speedy wideout and defensive back Andrew Zitnik, who is fresh off winning some hardware at the state track and field meet. But the Raiders have experience, and that is key. The team will return 14 seniors letterwinners this fall. Dota said a lot of this year’s success will be pitted to them and their ability to lead the team. The second item consists of three of those returning lettermen. Offensive linemen Iam Folmar, Andrew Hampton and Dominique Scrivens will return as starters. Having that experience up front will hopefully act as an example for the rest of the team, Dota said. The third element also involves a returning senior: kicker Moses Sosa. Dota said the continued development of the kicking game will be crucial to improve upon last season’s 6-3-1 mark.
