Obama is digging us out of a hole
I have had it with the Republi- can rhetoric concerning the state of our economy. They expound about the failure of the Obama administration and his stimulus program.
I am 86 years of age and a veteran of World War II. I have witnessed the ineptitude of the bloated Republican Party digging us deeply in debt, especially under the Bush and Reagan administrations. Herbert Hoover was a lulu also. I lived through the Great Depression (just barely), and I have yet to see anything that the Republican party has done for the benefit of the common, blue-collar worker.
I believe that G.W. Bush knew that we were going to go to war with Iraq before he became president. I remember the day that Bush strutted down the deck of the aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln in his flight suit with a smirk on his face and positioned himself under the banner proclaiming “Mission Accomplished.” He thought that the war with Iraq war over since we captured Saddam Hussein,
I personally went across North Africa in WWII all the way to Al Alamein. That was as far as the German General Rommel got when he ran out of fuel. The Sahara desert was full of German tanks and war equipment. I know quite a bit about the religious fanaticism of the Muslim culture. If Bush had more of such knowledge, I feel we would not be in the mess we find ourselves in today.
In my lifetime I was in more than 40 countries. I trucked for 41 years after the war. If Bush could have gotten to know more of these foreign cultures, we would have been in better shape today.
Everywhere I travel, I see evidence of what President Obama is accomplishing. The economic picture is looking much brighter and the recovery is helping to put the Mahoning Valley back on the map.
