Mr., Mrs. Ewanish mark anniversary by renewing vows

YOUNGSTOWN

Mr. and Mrs. Joseph S. Ewanish of Youngstown celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary by renewing their marriage vows on Aug. 15 during a blessing ceremony officiated by the Rev. John Harvey at Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church, where they were married on Sept. 3, 1960, and are longtime members.

They were honored at the church center during a reception hosted by their son, John J. Ewanish.

Mr. Ewanish is a U.S. Navy veteran. He retired in 1980 from LTV Steel in Warren after 44 years of service. He is president of the church and a member of American Legion Post and 3298 American Federation of Eagles.

Mrs. Ewanish, the former Betty Maletsky, has been employed as a teachers aide for 35 years by Youngstown City Schools.
