Backpack info

When: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

Where: East Federal Plaza in downtown Youngstown. East Federal from Market to Champion streets will be closed for the event.

Supplies: Backpacks and school supplies will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Children must be accompanied by an adult; children must be present at the event. Supplies including notebooks, binders, pencil boxes, safety scissors and glue sticks will be distributed. Bibles also will be distributed. Gently used clothes will be available.

Fun: Musical entertainment, Poorgie the clown and face painting.

Food: Hot dogs, snow cones, popcorn and punch.

Fellowship: Jericho Project and Prayer Team volunteers will pray for young people and their families.

New this year: Haircuts will be given.
